Ruth is the Managing Director for First Mutual Life Assurance Company (Private) Limited, the second-largest insurance entity in Zimbabwe. She presided over a threefold growth in revenue and business volumes over a 10-year period in a challenging economic environment. As a distinguished business leader and marketing expert, she initiated and managed various insurance schemes of national significance thereby contributing to the increased participation in the formal financial systems of previously excluded population segments.

Founder and CEO of Coronation Solutions, a leading consulting firm providing Actuarial, Risk Management, Financial & Investment Advisory services.

Wadzanayi is a seasoned corporate leader and entrepreneur with over 18 years’ experience working in the insurance industry. Has worked in Zimbabwe,  Malawi and Botswana developing Employee Health and Benefits Solutions for both private and public companies. A visionary leader obsessed with unlocking talent of her teams and finding solutions to clients’ business challenges.

Wadzanayi has been exposed to all facets of business and excelled in Strategic Management, Operations Management, Business Development, Project Management and Risk Management.

She holds a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration and a Diploma in Insuranc

Letwin Mawire

Letwin is the Managing Director of ZB Life Assurance Company.  An intelligent, hardworking business leader who has worked in the insurance industry for eighteen years, twelve years of which were at executive level. She sits on the Boards of a life insurance company. Letwin has contributed immensely to the strategy formulation and implementation thereof of the companies mentioned above. She attended an Executive Development Programme in August 2015 at the University of Capetown, which assisted in broadening her scope in various areas including strategy formulation and implementation, marketing, human resources, conflict resolution, communication skills and negotiation skills among others. During her current job she has gained a deeper understanding of the life insurance industry as she participated in the development of products, review of processes and procedures and her close interaction with actuaries. She was involved in the selection of the administration system and led the delegation that went on site visits as part of the selection process. Letwin participates in the implementation of the system at a high level.

Ruvimbo is a Marketing Practitioner by training and an Entrepreneur at heart. With over 10 years of experience in various industries which includes Phamarcetical, Retail and Insurance.

Ruvimbo is also the Founder and CEO of Tammy’s Classic Foods.

She is a holder of a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Women’s University in Africa. Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing Management Degree, a Certified Digital Marketer and a member of the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ)

Alice Shumba

Alice is the Executive Director for Operations at FBC Reinsurance Limited and is a seasoned reinsurance professional with over 18 years’ experience in the industry.  She is a holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Insurance and Risk Management from NUST, an MBA from ESAMI and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) UK. Alice has been involved in offering reinsurance training within Zimbabwe and the region through the Organization of Eastern and Southern Africa Insurers (OESAI) and the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ). Training and product development is her passion with a keen interest in emerging risks like cyber insurance, political violence and terrorism as well as weather indexed insurances.

A Lawyer by training with a passion for insurance and over 23 years in the insurance industry.  Clementine has strong training skills, whose desire is to see insurance women rising through grooming and training.  She is a distinguished insurance professional with vast experience, an enthusiastic, vibrant, energetic, confident, highly organized, assertive, self-driven emotionally mature and team-oriented life insurance professional.  Clementine has a passion for life assurance in general and service orientation in particular with vast experience in life underwriting, reassurance, business administration and technical training.

Rutendo is the General Manager for Old Mutual Life Assurance Company and has nearly two decades of experience in the financial services industry.

Prior to her role as General Manager, Rutendo was the Chief Risk Officer for Old Mutual Africa with risk and compliance oversight over the 13 countries in Africa where Old Mutual has operations. She has also held various roles within the Old Mutual group in Zimbabwe, including Head of Strategy and Reporting and Actuarial executive for the Life business.

Rutendo holds a BSc (Honors) degree in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriott Watt University (UK), an MBA from the University of Cape Town and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK).

Mavis M. Mataranyika holds a Master’s in Business Administration with Nottingham Trent University and is pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration with the same University. She also holds an Executive Development Programme Diploma from the University of Zimbabwe In 2001 she and her husband Philip founded the Nyaradzo Group and Mavis is the General Manager of Nyaradzo Funeral Services Division. She has also worked for the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare, with The Government Analyst Department and University of Zimbabwe’s Faculty of Agriculture, Soil Science Department where she was a Chemistry and Biochemistry laboratory technician. Mavis and her husband Philip are blessed with 3 boys

Sandra Tinotenda Musevenzo is the Director General for Zimbabwe Association of Pension Funds (ZAPF) and has over 15 years of experience in the pensions industry. Prior to her role as Director General, Sandra was the Principal Pensions Officer for Communications and Allied Industries Pension Fund (CAIPF), Client Relations Advisor for Minerva Risk Advisors.

Sandra has vast experience in business development, account relationship management, risk management and pension administration. She is passionate about changing lives and making a difference.

Sandra holds a BSc Honours Degree in Management and Entrepreneurial Development Studies Specialising in General Management and Marketing from Women’s University in Africa, an MBA from the Women’s University in Africa, a Diploma in Insurance, a Diploma in Public Relations and a Certificate in Pensions Administration.

Melenie R. Gumbo

Melenie Gumbo is a powerhouse of marketing and branding innovation in the financial services and FMCG sector. With twenty years of experience as a marketer, locally and within the region. The brands that she has worked on have been recognized for many accolades while under her stewardship including, the CSR award, Best Bank supporting SMES, Marketing Association of Zimbabwe Super Brand runner up and the Megafest Best Bank.

She is a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Management at the University of Hull and a MBA from Nottingham Trent University.

Melenie is the General Manager Group Marketing at Fidelity Life Assurance Group where she heads the group marketing function and is responsible for formulating and directing the marketing and corporate communications functions of the group.

She is the immediate past Vice President of the Marketer s Association of Zimbabwe.

Melenie is vastly experienced in Marketing and Brand-building in the Banking, FMCG, Insurance, and Financial Services arena. Melanie been responsible for building and communicating for such brands as Barclays Africa, Trust Bank Corporation and The Coca-Cola Company.

Her first job was a graduate trainee at Barclays Bank PLC in the UK, working for the then Barclays Africa Group where she gained basic banking and sales training.  In 2001, Melenie moved to Trust Bank Corporation as a Business Development Manager and later moved to Group marketing as a Marketing Manager. There she successfully spearheaded the rebranding initiative as well as the launch of new retail products that increased revenue. She later joined the Coca-Cola Company where she gained valuable experience in marketing services as well brand management strategies of FMCGs; first as the Marketing Services Manager for the South Central Region, incorporating Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi. Here she led successful regional campaigns and promotional activities encompassing music and sports and Coca Cola’s leading brands. Recognised for her efforts, she was then elevated to Senior Brand Manager for the same region.

In 2008, she joined ZB Financial Holdings as the Head of Group Marketing and Corporate Communications. In her role at ZB, Melenie had the overall responsibility for driving the presence, positioning, reputation and value of the ZB Brand, and its visibility and success in the market-place. Melenie also sat on the board of ZB Life Assurance and chaired the Board Marketing Committee
